In my last blog I mentioned my home make-over and my feelings about it that range from jubilant to wretched, depending on which day you catch me. This process has once again reinforced my belief that solid relationships are paramount to the success of any endeavor. I learnt that one of the most important considerations when choosing a contractor is their clear understanding of your vision and your required outcome. The ‘personal touch’ should never be underestimated.

Productive ERP development…only a cup away from taking over the world
We have a philosophy at SYSPRO that precludes innovation simply for the sake of innovation. There is an organizational commitment around here to productive development that doesn’t really leave much wriggle room for frivolity. ERP software is a serious business after all… isn’t it?
Support that Counts
Renovations can be exhausting and frustrating but oddly exhilarating at the same time. During my recent home makeover, as I bounced between building suppliers, sanitary ware outlets and roof truss manufacturers, I got to thinking about service levels that stand out. It struck me that the difficult decisions, inconveniences and stresses of any project can be minimized by excellent service.
The IT Women
Women are still under represented in the IT community, whether in management, project, consultancy, infrastructure, technical or development roles. Big tech companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft all hover around the 70:30 male to female ratio mark. However, it doesn’t appear to be a selection issue, more a recruitment issue. From my own experience, and that of many of my female colleagues, the IT sector generally fails to appeal to women.
